There was a distinguished middle-aged man in a restaurant seated at a table taking a much-needed brake.He had just finished his Christmas shopping,
which was no simple accomplishment for him to make.
There were many gifts for him to purchase. He reflected on the countless hours he spent in two or three different malls.He thought of all the different products that the stores were proudly showing; everything from TV sets to tennis balls.
Then suddenly the man’s reflective train of thought was interrupted as an elderly man approached his table.He asked if he could accompany him since the place was full.As for him to continue to stand, he simply wasn’t able.
The younger man seemed happy for the distraction
and he invited him with a warm welcome, “please have a seat”! The older man expressed his appreciation with a smile and wanting to show his gratitude he said “my treat”!
He said, “I have no money to pay for your meal
but I can be good company for you don’t you know”? “Just ask me any question that maybe troubling your heart and I’ll give you a satisfactory answer before I go”.
The younger man paused for a moment. He sipped on his coffee and said, “there is something I can’t figure out.As I look at all the shoppers and decorations my question would be this;could you tell me what’s Christmas all about”?
As the older man began to speak, his countenance seemed to change He spoke enthusiastically with an abundance of joy.He said, “ it’s all about God’s love for the people in the world and he expressed it so miraculously through His baby boy.
This baby boy came to a troubled world born in a stable so long ago. He came with a specific purpose from Heaven above.All people in this world have troubled hearts like yours,but God in His Mercy has offered His indescribable gift of Love.
The trouble that’s within your heart is something
that you inherited from Adam long, long ago and that trouble is called sin which only God’s son Jesus Christ can take away don’t you know?

The younger man was awestruck before the elder disappeared and he wondered if he had been where angles trod. When he humbly bowed and prayed, he soon received inner peace, as his heart welcomed The Son of God.
Wow! I don't see how I could have missed this one. This is so beautifully written. Jesus is the reason for ALL the seasons. How can so many of us exclude him from our celebrations.
