“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Pet. 2:9).
God refers to you as a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation and a peculiar people. You are so special to God that He will not trade you for any other thing. He places that kind of value on you that supersedes any of His creatures on planet earth. Out of all the generations on earth, He has chosen you. He has chosen you to be His. He has also made you a royal: so you are a king. Despite all your weaknesses and frailties, He has made you Holy. If you believe this, shout Hallelujah!
But this comes with a responsibility. You are not who you are just for yourself only. He created you with and for a purpose. The purpose is for you to show forth the praises of Him (God) who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. We were in darkness when God called us. Now, we are children of the light. Let us make the world know the benefits of living our life with and for Christ.
Make sure you work diligently in your office. Offer up your heart in sacrifice. Get and remain in close access to God. Come always with boldness to the throne of God that you may receive grace in times of need. Be ready at all times to share your faith with anyone. Consider it is part of your office thus to do good to them which you are called. Your reward will be to have this honour in heaven, to be exalted to that glorious kingship and priesthood, to be made a priest unto God forever and ever.
