Psalms 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord has made, Let us Rejoice and be Glad.”
This should always be our daily morning thought.
Yesterday morning seemed like the start of a perfect day until in the afternoon, I had to undergo an unexpected and imminent surgery which could not be avoided. Having had no clue in the morning as to what the day would bring, I could only go through the whole procedure with one thought in my mind.
No matter what pain and discomfort I was experiencing, it was still the day of the Lord and I was still rejoicing in spite of everything.
This is the reality of life that every day is the Lord’s day. The days when things go right or when things go wrong. The days filled with happiness or the days filled with sorrow. The days of elation or the days of endless suffering.
There is a relevant meaning behind each event that we go through during the day.
Some people believe that only Sunday is the day of the Lord where they have to fulfill their Christian obligations by going to Church and maintaining a Holy day.
But every second, minute and hour belongs to the Lord.
It is the Lord’s morning when he sends us the lovely sunrise.
It is the Lord’s afternoon when he lets the sunshine pour its golden light on us.
It is the Lord’s evening when he paints the sky with the spectacular sunset.
It is the Lord’s night when thousands of stars twinkle in the sky and the dazzling moonlight lends forth its light to the world.
It is His way of greeting us in the morning, afternoon, evening & night.
How marvelous to feel the signs of love throughout the day. It is like a constant flow which keeps us going. The circle of Love has no beginning or end.
Sometimes, we are so caught up in our hectic schedules that we fail to miss out on the many small miracles that take place during the day.
We await One Great Miracle and lose out on the joys of the several others being poured down upon us.
We have no time to admire the beautiful nature, specially the flowers which bloom all around us presenting a joyful sight. If we stop to smell the sweet scent of roses, we will feel the hand of the master gardener in the soft touch of the petals which reminds me of the verse Jesus spoke in Matthew 6:28-29 “Look how the wild flowers grow; I tell you that not even King Solomon with all his wealth had clothes as beautiful as one of these flowers.”
Whatever the tribulation, God will always make a way for us.
Can love ever stop loving ? Can hope ever stop hoping ? Can faith ever stop believing ? Can trust ever stop trusting ?
We have to feel the touch of our Lord in the whisper of the breeze, in the flying of the birds. The sight of a white dove always reminds me of the Holy Spirit.
We are in the days of Advent preparing ourselves for the coming of our Lord.
Let us fill each day with hope, love and joy in this season to welcome Him.
Every day should be a gesture of thanksgiving to the Lord. To taste the goodness that we receive each day; to count our blessings & be grateful and to soften our hearts.
Yesterday will always be remembered and cherished by me as on this day, I learnt the true meaning of a splendid day. It is a day on which God gives us the grace to rise above our anguish and feel only joy within us. I thank Him for this wonderful lesson.
