Working in stores all day as a merchandiser this holiday season, it's not hard to notice the fact that you will not hear a store play a song that talks about the reason we celebrate Christmas: Jesus, lest they offend a shopper and they leave without buying anything. I was talking to the Lord about this on Nov. 23 of this year and He gave me the following to share:
MERRY CASHMAS
"Tis the season of Cashmas!"
Local store owners cried.
"Break out those decorations
That drive customers inside!
Let's skip Thanksgiving!
Let's skip Halloween!
Go straight into Cashmas!"
They said with a gleam.
They played songs about Santa,
Snow, home, sleighs and cheer.
That made no mention of Jesus.
His name is not here.
As you celebrate this season,
Remember the One
For Whom Christmas was named,
Christ Jesus, God's Son!
Have a Joy-Filled Christmas!
