Does Satan Really Exist?

Does The Devil Really Exist? Once I realized how much influence he had in my life, things began making sense. I had been seeing a therapist for 2 Ĺ years with no results. For me the therapists couldnít help because my problem was of a spiritual origin. They work for some people depending on how deep rooted their trouble may be. Some people have chemical imbalances as well. God can deliver you from any circumstance and sometimes medical intervention helps during the process. Not for me, the issues run to deep. I was on anti-depressants at the time which helped curve the depression, but the depression was only a symptom of the true illness. After asking Jesus into my heart I began a journey on reading the Bible. The truths I discovered on that journey began to set me free and it didnít cost a dime. First we need to realize there is an enemy out there and he does not have good intentions.

(John 10:10): The thief (devil) cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am (Jesus) come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

This is a brief description of satansí job description. The first time I realized how much influence he had in my life I was reading in the book of Ephesians;

(Ephesians 6:10-12) Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (11) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (12) For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

All the fears I had and all the thoughts that overwhelmed me was an attack. It origins were not of a physical nature. These were attacks whos origin lie in the realm of the spirit. It is funny most people believe in ghosts, but the devil affecting peoples lives seems so surreal. In the 12th verse it is saying that all our struggles in life are not of the natural realm (flesh and blood), but against a demonic realm. Then it names the levels of this realm; principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, spiritual wickedness in high places. The significance of this revelation to me was that all those years of suffering was based on my thought life. I had no control over all the fearful thoughts I experienced. Then when I had bad thoughts I would hate myself because I couldnít comprehend a good person having such thoughts. I desired perfection and in doing so found nothing but failure. Once I knew that I had an enemy which operated through my thought life the focus came off me and on him. I was not the problem he was. You know the commercials where there is a devil on one shoulder of an individual and an angel on the other. That is closer to reality than you can imagine. His main tool is the fear of death. If you fear death then the devil has a certain amount of influence in you.

(Hebrews 2:14,15) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he (Jesus) also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; (15) And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

The last scripture tells us that satan held the power of death, but Jesus through the death he suffered destroyed him that had that power. In verse 15 it says that this fear paralyzes you your whole life. Fear of death comes in many forms. If you fear loosing your home, fear of not knowing where your next meal is coming from, or fear of a disease. All the phobias known to the medical community as well. they all are based on the fear of death. If you loose your home you may freeze to death, fear of not eating, you will starve to death, fear of a disease because you may die from it, fear of falling from heights, and so on. These are just individual influences the devil has on us. What does the Bible say about the devil in the end of times;

(Revelations 20:10) And the devil that deceived them (the nations of the world) was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

The devil is not just working on individuals, in the end it says that he deceived the nations of the world. I donít tell you this to invoke fear because I have good news as well. Jesus Christ has defeated the devil. Today the only power the devil has is the power we give him. This is the problem with most people. He controls their lives because they donít know any different. I am here to tell you that He is defeated through Jesus and only Jesus, because Jesus is the one that defeated him. Jesus defeated him by being raised from the dead. Tomorrow I will share some of the examples Jesus gave us to receive victory in our lives and keep it. Be Blessed and Be at Peace.

If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
