Today I Feel Purple

Today I feel purple
Rich and deep, velvety soft
Content and at peace
Like a cat purring in the sun

Today I feel purple
A hearty pansy, my aubergine face
Laughing in the face of
Frosty cold adversity

Today I feel purple
A tiny, delicate violet
Timid and shy, unsure of myself
Afraid to take a chance, step out in faith

Today I feel purple
Storm clouds on the horizon
Foreboding and menacing
Seething anger ready to burst

Today I feel purple
A lilac bush in full bloom
Her intoxicating fragrance
Filling the air with sweetness

Today I feel purple
The vibrant magenta glow of the
Sunset mingling with other colors
In a farewell symphony to the day

Today I feel purple
Freshly picked lavender
Aromatic and earthy, crushed
Into a healing balm

Today I feel purple
A many-faceted amethyst
Deep and mysterious, full of
Unexplored possibilities

Today I feel purple

(I didn't quite make it in time for the writer's challenge, theme purple, but wanted to write something anyway.
