Words of kindness, thoughts of love
Cheer the pilgrim on his way;
Words of grace like stars above
Light his dim paths bright as day.
Deeds of mercy, acts of love,
Rise as myrrh to God above;
Help we render, the least of men,
Heap for us as gold in Heaven.
Let us, therefore, not weary grow,
Or deeds of mercy fail to show;
Let joy within us blight the doom,
And Christ within us light the gloom.
