God's love for me
Is like Spokane's summer sun
Beating down relentlessly on my heart.
Warming the heights and depths of my life.
Evaporating the chilling dew of my false guilt.
Penetrating even to the deep canyons of my life.
Above me, Behind me
Before me, Surrounding me
Even when I choose to ignore it
To go inside, close the blinds, and shut the door of my heart
Still God's love remains
In full measure of his Grace and Mercy
Ordering the days and seasons of my life.
Reaching even into the pit of my despair.
Me, broken, half-crazy, helpless, hopeless me
Caught irresistibly in His embrace
Me, the one the Sun of Heaven shines and
Sings songs of love and deliverance for
Who am I that you should shine on me?
