THOUGHT FOR TODAY: “This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
I started one day with a “discussion” with my roommate that I didn’t want to have. On my way to work, I was involved in a 4-car pile-up on the freeway. I was two hours late that day, and missed a team meeting. Since I wasn’t present, I was assigned all the tasks that no one else wanted to do. And I had a root canal that afternoon.
Now, let me give you another version of that day. The discussion I had cleared the air and actually improved my relationship with that person. There was absolutely no damage to me or to my car as a result of the accident, and I watched with gratitude as the paramedics treated people in the cars both in front of and behind me. The tasks I received during my absence saved my job, as the next week all unnecessary personnel were laid off. And my dentist is so good that I fell asleep during the root canal.
A day is 24 hours long. Whether those 24 hours are good or bad is our choice!
PRAYER: “Lord, Help me to make the most of the day you have given me and to always remember that no matter what, you are there to guide me through the storms.” Amen
