Majid Siddiquee is a veteran Urdu and Punjabi poet who has spent all his life in the service of Urdu and Punjabi poetry. He belongs to Chakwal Tehsil and district and has been a professor of Urdu in government colleges at various places. After his retirement from the education department, he paid his full attention to his publications that had already been published and also published the work that had remained unpublished so far. The collection of his Urdu poetry "Majid Nishan" has been published recently containing more than a thousand pages which has been much applauded by the literary circles of Pakistan and Urdu writers abroad.
His son Jawad Majid is a soft ware computer engineer and also a good poet who is at present living in America. He has three daughters, the first one Munaza Javed who has masterís degrees in Urdu and Fine Arts and has been working as a lecturer in University and now she is in the field of arts manifesting her talent. His second daughter Ferzana Asim and the third Saadia Nadeem are PhDs and serving as professors in Govt. Colleges.
The great poets like Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Sayyed Zamir Ahmed Jaffery and the literary critics like Col. Ghulam Sarwar have paid tributes to Majid for his poetry and his service to the Urdu and Punjabi poetry.
Recently, a literary meeting was held by Ewane Adab Chakwal (a well known literary organization) to acknowledge the greatness of Majid Siddiqee as an Urdu and Punjabi poet. Speaking on the personality and poetry of Majid Siddiquee, Abid Jaffery, the Chairman and the Patron of Ewane Adab said that he has been seeing Majid Siddiquee throughout his life working and serving for Urdu and Punjabi poetry. He has been wholly devoted to it and has made a mark in both the fields of poetry. He has also been serving as a mile stone to the young poets and has helped them shaping themselves as good poets. Ehsan Elahi Ehsan, the President of Ewane Adab said that Majid Siddiquee had not been recognized by the literary monopolist for a long time. But he has got the high position he deserved in Urdu and Punjabi poetry because of his long and hard struggle, devotion and sincerity. He has covered in his poetry a rich variety of life and society. He knows the art of poetry and how to create a universal piece of art. Aslam Ayub, the Vice President of Ewane Adab also paid tribute to Majidís poetry and his devotion to it. He said there was no doubt that Majid is an original poet in subject matter and in style. Baqir Wasim, the Secretary General of Ewane Adab was all praise for Majidís Urdu and Punjabi poetry. Uzma Sadaf, the Secrettary General of Ewane Adab (women wing) said that she has been very much impressed by Majidís poetry and his art. She has really enjoyed the ghazals of Majid poetry and found him a poet of his own kind. At the end all the participants prayed for the long life and stable health of Majid Siddiquee.
