“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me” (John 14:1).
I know the times we are living now are not easy. The economy of the country is in shambles. Fuel prices are increasing rapidly. Market prices are also rising but salaries are not increasing to that effect. Times are really bad. Every day, we're bombarded with messages of a ‘broke economy’. Political talks are becoming rampant on our radio and television stations. People continue to die prematurely through no fault of theirs. The global financial crunch is gradually trickling down to our local economy but take heart! We are not of the world, so we shouldn't let the crises of this world determine our destiny. Remember that we serve a risen Saviour, and we will spend eternity with Him in His heavenly Kingdom. God's plan for your life is not affected by what happens in the world. He created the world and he determines what must happen within it. The fact that the times are hard doesn’t mean God has totally neglected us. He is still in control. He does not adjust His plans to meet financial crunches, loan debts, troubled stock market, re-denominations or inflation rates. Amidst all these troubles, God still gives us something to hope on. He is not asleep, neither is he in a nap or even snoozing. In these troubled times God calls us to believe in Him and stand firm on the solid rock of His Word and take shelter in His promises. Let not your heart be troubled, believe in God and He will see you through.
Thank God today and always for the comfort He offers us when are troubled.
