Father I want to feel your word, experience your word and live your word. I don't want to just read it or skim over it. I want to feel it come alive and feel it's transforming power doing a work inside of me. I want it to be the only thing that sustains me.
Transpose your words into me, write your love letters on my heart so that it is forever branded by your hand. Leave your mark on me, I want people to see that the work you have done is permanent and can never be wiped away.
Many have tried but none have succeeded, they even lead you to the slaughter. You gave everything you had to show us what we need to have life and what are we doing with it?
Sitting around playing video games, pre-occupied with our cell phones, smoking our cigarettes or maybe something much worse. Yelling at the driver in the lane next to us, yelling at our kids. Standing in line to pay for more of something we don't need.
When I really look at how wrapped up we are in our flesh and the things of this world, how quickly we have been seduced by this empty life the devil has so carefully packaged. It's amazing to me that you did what you did knowing that we would be in this condition. But, you did it anyways knowing how weak we would be and how we would reject you.
Lord thank you that you are a GOD who is merciful and who loves us. That you sacrificed your only son because you hold the promise of what we can become and you want us to become it.
Father thank you for the redemption that comes from your blood and the freedom that you have made available to anyone who is desperate to touch your garment.
Father that you are the only thing in this world that has true power, our one true GOD.
It's amazing how disconnected and void of love we truly are. People don't even know how to react to kindness any longer. The blank stare you receive when being kind to someone because they cant hardly believe that a stranger would care enough to do something nice. It only shows me just how desperate we truly are for you, our Savior.
Lord I pray that you open the eyes of this sleeping generation- awaken them oh LORD. Set your church in motion, Light the fires within. The only thing, the only cure is you my GOD.
