"When you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble." (Proverbs 04:12)
Have you ever been hampered when you walk? I remember walking through fields of weeds and briars as a youth, and having the vines and briars entangle me and slow me down so much I could hardly make it. I also remember running and falling. The usual result was a skinned knee and pain. These are pictures of the lives of many of us. We are entangled by the weeds of life, we are tripped up by the circumstances we face. The Lord has a better way. He illustrates it in this promise of a father to his child. If the child will hear the father, if the child will seek wisdom, and if the child will keep on a right course in life, then the child will have an easier way in life. The child will not be hampered when walking, will not stumble when running. It is the promise of the Lord to you, His child. (whenisell@aol.com)
