"My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight;" (Proverbs 03:21)
What do you value in life? What do you consider your personal treasures? Proverbs recommends that we consider wisdom, knowledge, and understanding as treasures to be saved, valued and protected. Part of wisdom is "sound judgment" and "discernment". Both attributes refer to the ability to make right choices, to know right from wrong, to choose the best course. What would your life be like if every decision you made was the right decision? Probably pretty fantastic, right? Since we are all imperfect we probably won't make a correct decision every time we are faced with a choice, but if we value wisdom, if we seek knowledge, if we develop understanding, then we will have sound judgment and discernment, and a better life. Treasure these things, and you will live a blessed life. (whenisell@aol.com)
