“Revelation 6:5 And when he had opened the third seal. I heard the third beast say. Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. (scales) 6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”
After massive destruction around the planet from China, United States of America, Europe, Israel, Russia and many other nations around the world we can see why the black horse has now entered the global theater front and center…
With the massive destruction from nuclear warheads and nuclear contamination of major agricultural producing countries through out the world and the global economy collapsing in every nation because of the destruction of many major international financial institutions, we can clearly see why the horse man on a black horse is holding a pair of scales.
The color black on the black horse is a symbol of famine. The pair of scales represents a global food shortage around the planet and all nations will have to ration what food is left to the masses. Starvation around the planet will be horrifying beyond what we could ever imagine. The starvation that is happening around the world today is a small glimpse of what’s to come when this seal is open. Millions will be homeless and helpless with no place to go…. Crime during this time will be at its highest levels around the planet with millions and millions of people unemployed trying to meet their basic needs which will be SURVIVAL.
Jesus gives the disciples a third warning that corresponds with the opening of the Third Seal found in Revelation 6:5, 6. “And there will be famines.” Matthew 24:7.
With global food shortages around the world out of control the one world leader of the One World Government will have call upon the nations to ration food among the masses.
A "measure" (6:6) is translated from the Greek word choinix, which is a dry measurement less than a quart.. A "penny" (6:6) is used for the Latin word denarius, which was the Roman silver coin that was accepted as the equivalent of the ordinary pay for a day's wages.
In the Book of Matthew we can clearly see a days wage was a penny. "2 And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard... 9 And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny. 10 But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny. 11 And when they had received it, they murmured against the good man of the house, 12 Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and thou hast made them equal unto us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day. 13 But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?" (Matthew 20:2-13).
The “measure of wheat" (6:6) weighs roughly between 7 and 8 ounces (approximately 1/2 pound), which would produce about 1/2 of a loaf to one complete loaf of bread.
Millions and millions of people who survived the global destruction around the planet from nuclear warheads will be unemployed, homeless and starving. It will cost a days wage to eat each day during this time because of global inflation. Millions and Millions will die of starvation. To make matters worse many of the food and water supplies that are left will be contaminated from the nuclear blast and fall out killing more.
Hurt not the oil and the wine
In Revelation 6:6 we can see at the very end of the verse another clue to what is going to take place during this global famine around planet earth. “and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”
Many have written about this verse “and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.”
What is God trying to tell us?
The verse “and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” is difficult and I will explain it the way I was taught. There are some who say the oil is olive oil and they’re others who say that the oil is what is used in transportation around the world. If that be the case why did God add wine to the verse?
I have to agree with many of my Bible scholar friends, the oil and wine spoken of in 6:6 are luxury items that only the rich will be able to afford. Historically the rich never suffered during a famine. The rich during the future global famine will most likely be the only ones that will be able to afford oil withering it will be for food or transportation. Certainly the rich will be the only ones that will be able to afford wine during this time.
Like I previously stated millions and millions will be unemployed, homeless, and starving to death around the world during this time of the tribulation period.
When the rider on the black horse completes his ride around the planet millions and millions will die from starvation.
What can we do to prepare for this Global Depression? Accept Jesus Christ today! The way things are happening around the world today Jesus could come back for His bride at any moment! If your not ready! You need to get ready!
