Lay your burdens at God's feet
And then look up not down,
You were not made to walk alone
Or in your troubles drown.
You'll one day have the answers
That you can't see right now,
The reasons for your suffering,
The pain that He allows.
Though He may not have caused the pain
It's filtered through His hand,
Together you will walk through this
Though you don't understand.
He will not leave you comfortless
Or standing all alone,
But from this trial a blessing make
Which you will yet be shown.
So lay your burdens at His feet,
They are not yours to carry,
For as you learn to give them up
His comfort will not tarry.
