Then the LORD answered me and said: "Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.
Hab 2:2 (NKJV)
Reading this verse reveals the necessity to write the vision down that others may perhaps capture what the Lord's direction is regards to this ministry.
What is our vision?
Some may recall the privilege we had in St. Louis, MO to help a few homeless men. Although the experience was short-lived, it served as a taste of what we believe God really wants to accomplish through the “King’s Fishers Discipleship Training Facility.” In short, the vision is the formation of the previous mentioned training center, from here out to be referred to simply as KFDTF.
What is the purpose of KFDTF?
1. To teach the Word of God without man's additional traditions.
2. To provide practical training in various skills, such as electrical wiring, carpentry, and plumbing
3. To teach practical application of God's Word by offering our service free of charge to those in need, both domestically and internationally.
To whom will KFDTF minister?
The outreach of KFDTF will be available to all who have the need AND who expresses a true desire to serve the Lord and learn from His Word.
How long shall the duration of the program be?
The duration of a person’s participation in the program should be as long as they desire to be involved. Though KFDTF will not be a 'ministry training center', so-to-speak, we all have a ministry, whether in the work place, or from the pulpit. Therefore during a person's stay, there shall be extensive opportunity for ministry involvement.
Where shall this take place?
The goal of KFDTF is to obtain land somewhere within Southern California for use as the training facility. However, we are open to wherever the Lord shall lead and open the door.
What projects are we currently involved with?
The current involvement of the King's Fishers Ministries is mainly with a pastor located in Nakuru, Kenya. Please visit our missions page to view pictures from Kenya and our involvement there. Richard is planning for a trip to Kenya sometime in 2010. We would eventually like to gather up a team of workers and build a much-needed orphanage there. This will not only tell the children how much they are loved by Jesus but show them as well.
What are our current needs for KFDTF?
Our needs are listed below in order of priority:
1. $100 for Richard to obtain a Passport.
2. $1400 For Richard to purchase a plane ticket to Kenya.
3. A piece of land where we could begin the Training Facility.
