AS I gaze into the innocent eyes of my newborn babe tears begin to roll slowly down my cheeks. A mixture of emotions well up inside my chest as I contemplate the life adventures my child will face; pride, fear, love, hope, and faith are among the many emotions which threaten to overwhelm me. I am overwhelmed, not by you my child, but by the shear awesome responsibility of raising another human being.
As I gaze into your peaceful face a tear rolls slowly down my cheek once again, and again I begin to pray to my Father God in heaven for His assistance each day of your life. Peace begins to engulf me then with the realization that with my Father’s loving guidance each day you will grow in love, and faith; for I am not alone, with God ever present at my side.
I know my Lord and, Savior, Jesus Christ will walk beside you as well; my child, to protect and keep you from Satin’s evil grasp along the way. So my child I promise you love, and ask you to overlook my mistakes for as you are a newborn infant in this world, I also am a newly born parent. Please accept my promise to you, and God, that I shall always be there for you to guide, love, and protect you along the way for as long as I remain upon this earth, and eternally.
