I felt to write about this praise to our Lord about a time of hardship many years back.
We were very poor and our children were small. It was right after we came to the Lord. During that time, there were certainly hard times. Just having three kids and not a lot of money on my husband’s salary. But I do remember those as the most wonderful of times. And it is because of seeing the Lord so clearly in our needs, keeping us all.
One time we found ourselves without anything to eat for dinner.
We hadn’t mentioned it to anyone that we were going through a hard time, especially the neighbors would not have known. But at dinner there wasn’t anything to serve.
I ask the kids to set the table, and told them the Lord had said in His Bible that we would not be without. We served the Lord. We were His.
I love to have known these times now, years later, to share again with my kids and share the remembrance of how Faithful the Lord always was and is now, still. We saw Him help us when we were so young in the Lord and we see Him still now, helping us every day, all through our lives. The Lord is Faithful and Kind.
They placed the dishes on the table and set it, and when it was done, and we had thanked the Lord and sat a moment, just long enough for me to panic a tad, lol, I'm sure I did that, as I still do, but then the phone rang.
The lady next door who did not know our circumstances said, Oh, I have over cooked way too much and cannot put this all in my freezer. Send the kids over and get some!
We went and got fresh homemade soup, so much that was so good, much better than mine, lol, and homemade bread and set the table and had our dinner. There was plenty, so much there.
I love thinking on all the things the Lord has done. I realized I often forget the earlier times, but I want to remember these wonderful moments and share them again with my kids.
The Lord is so Good! And He is so Kind. And He is there for all of us to look to no matter what we are going through. He said He would not ever leave us or forsake us. He'd be with us and He is.
