Humble Yourself in the Presence of God

I had a very interesting dream the other night that I would like to share with you. I was in a warehouse of some type. It had several big doors, like what semi-trailer trucks back up into to unload and they were open. It also had many catwalks in the top that had people with hand trucks with boxes moving around on them. All the people were wearing black and had stocking caps pulled down over their faces. I was on the floor, face down at the back of the warehouse on the opposite side of the big door and I had a man dressed in black with a big gun standing over me. I was dressed in a robe like the ones you see in an Old Testament movie.

I while I was on the floor I was praying for each man as I saw him pass by on the catwalk. I was praying that they would stop the robbery and change their way of life. As this was going on, the man I was praying for fell down and did not get back up. Then the next one I prayed for fell down and did not get back up. Then they all started to fall down and not get back up. Then all of a sudden the big doors were closed and a strong wind was starting. The wind built until there was like a dirt devil or whirlwind. It was brown in color and was sucking up all the dust in the warehouse I could see all the dirt and dust being pulled toward it. All people were down on the ground fighting and trying not to be pulled into the whirlwind.

Somehow, I was able to get up and I walked over to the whirlwind. My robe was flowing and being pulled toward the whirlwind. I could see the men cowering as I walked toward the whirlwind. As I was walking toward the whirlwind, I was saying, “Humble yourself in the presence of God.” I keep saying this as I got closer, and kept getting louder and louder until I was screaming, “Humble yourself in the presence of God.” The last picture I remember seeing is me standing next to the whirlwind with my clothes being pulled toward it. The whirlwind was bent at the top and had the top part of my head in it and I was yelling to all the people “Humble yourself in the presence of the Lord.”

I put a lot of stock in dreams. All through out the Bible God uses dreams to talk to his people. In fact, a dream in college had a major effect on how my life has gone; I will have to tell you about that some other time. I think this dream is confirming my call from God. I have had some doubts lately because of some setbacks with what I have been trying to do, but this really confirms to me that I need to keep on plugging away.

You see, first I am praying for the men in black and nothing is happening, then as I keep praying first one and then another and another falls until they are all down. They all do not go down by me just praying, I have the help of the whirlwind. The whirlwind represents God, we see this in the Bible, and the most notable example is when Elijah is taken to heaven. Another picture that is soothing to me is that I walk toward the whirlwind and stand beside it. In other words, I need to keep getting closer to God. In addition, the last picture where the whirlwind bends over and touches me is great comfort.

The two things I do in the dream are also confirmation of what I am supposed to be doing in ministry. First, I am to pray for everyone, even the bad guys, for their change in life. Second, I am to be forth telling or prophesying about God. That is what I was doing, as I was yelling, “Humble yourself in the presence of God.” That is what I do with this blog and when I go speak. I just need to work more on both of these.

One side note I must tell you, Prophet means to for-tell. Most people think that the prophet has to tell the future. This is not true of all the prophets in the Bible, only a very small portion tells the future and some of them tell nothing of the future. Most of what is in the Bible is sermons they have given to the people to get them to do what God wants them to do. Does this sound familiar? Yes, that is what your pastor is doing. Therefore, a Pastor is a modern day prophet. Therefore, I am a prophet and so is your pastor.

Thank you for sharing this dream. God also speaks to me in dreams (as he does many others). Some do not recognize the spiritual dreams nor do they ask 'what does this mean?'... The men in black represents the kingdom of darkness, the whirlwind represents the Holy Spirit and you are the messenger. At least that is what I hear as I read your dream. Thanks again for sharing. GOD BLESS YOU
