They walk out to the stable. They halter up the one they are taking and clip on the lead rope and start walking. This horse is a beautiful creature. Mighty in size and color. The features are almost perfect. Yet the time has come. Why this one? Well it is just not right to keep this particular horse any longer. As they both walk the human speaks. Ok I know you may not understand, but you will honestly be happier. See your time has come to go. You were brought here to us for a reason. We took you in and now, well it is time for the walk. And before I say anything else I wish to say, thank you for being such a great horse to work with. I mostly and more importantly thank God for giving me the opportunity to love and care for you. To get to know your habits and see your special little attitudes. To smile when you trot or run, or when you just stand there and make those special faces that make me laugh and smile. And your calmness, even now is such a blessing. As we continue to walk through the forest you will begin to understand why this is necessary. You have lived this part of your life with great honor. You were and always will be special in my eyes and the eyes of others. Now just over that hill you will see. They stop just before they top the hill. The human continues: Listen closely, hear that? As the ears perk up the human continues. Yes it is your family. You were brought to us because you had an accident. We nursed you back to health, made sure you had completely recovered, and now you must return to your family. You are wild and free. As the human removes the halter and with a tear falling they say. Go now and remember you will always be loved. The horse walks up and the sight is breathtaking. Hundreds of wild horses just grazing. The horse slowly makes its way down to the others. The horse turns and looks back at the human one last time, then turns and joins the others. As the human starts back home they once again thank God for the opportunity given to them to help and nurse back to health one of Godís mighty creations.
