ďWhen his lamp shone upon my head and by his light I walked through darkness!Ē Job 29: 3
Crises were not the only part of Jobís life. There was a good in time in his life, as per the standards of material world. He was respected by all, youngsters, elders, rulers and who ever that matters in that society. He was blessed by God to help those in need. He was always ready to help blind, lame, fatherless, widows, strangers who were in trouble and protected poor people (Job 29: 11-16).
In all through his life, there was the presence of light that led him through. That was the blessing Job enjoyed. The good times or bad times, it was all the same for him. Job never questioned Godís intention.
We often think that material possessions are the measure of Godís blessing. More money and more assets, more blessed we are! We often think that material prosperity is something that God showers upon his servant. When everything goes smooth we consider we are blessed. So as when things go wrong, we conclude that bad time has come. We donít realize that it is the adversities that God often gifts his children.
We need to realize that money, assets and power one holds is not at all a measure of Godís abundant blessing. Blessing is the light that brightens our paths.
Amidst sorrows, difficulties and darkness that surround us, it is the light that cheer-up our hearts. This is the real blessing. It is thus Job says, ď When his lamp shone up my head and by light I walked through darknessĒ.
