The best way to grow wise is to learn from God, for He is the source of all wisdom.
"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:1-6).
"All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock" (Matthew 7:24).
"Anyone willing to be corrected is on the pathway to life. Anyone refusing has lost his chance" (Proverbs 10:17).
"My son, do not despise the Lord's discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in" (Proverbs 3:11-12).
"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word" (Psalm 119:9).
"Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is stupid" (Proverbs 12:1).
"I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil" (Romans 16:19).
"But solid food is for the mature--people who have trained their senses by using them to tell the difference between right and wrong" (Hebrews 5:14).
