Iíve laid out my bearings.
Itís clear to me now.
As the dust settles and I gaze back,
I have often wondered.

In times past I could not plot
The course to be traveled.
Or even from there,
the direction to where I should face.

This way seemed sure.
NO- a dead end, again!
Now, there I will trend,
Damn, no. Another
meaningless path!

How could I tread, when
as if, I lie in quicksand.
First upon first, climb out!
For now itís up to my chinÖ

To pray to He, Himself.
Maker of all.
That guided those souls
through, to the promise.

He could navigate for me!
Set me on the path.
Then follow the word,
From that, never to depart.

Clearer in the panorama
Now, the battle I see.
Thereís a war to be waged-
No prisoners to take!
I, in past, was evilís hostage!

Turning away from
what was my desire,
as was not His will.
And to elude the depraved one,
no matter how engaging.

These battles were not be lead
with devices of mankind.
Yet the weapons I choose
begin with my hands, folded.

Iíve built up an arsenal,
which is no weight to carry.
Yet the quiver is full
that lies in my heart.

The choicest of blades
That pierces the soul.
Of the enemy named evil.
We will divide his marrow.

First I should pull,
to begin the raucous.
My left then a right,
Fold them tight!

Then kindness, a smile
Aiding those still burdened.
What lifts the soul?
The words I choose.

As heat upon heat,
Into the throws I carry my dread.
Not all warriors prevail.
I will seek His strength,
it comes as I pray.

Donned as my defense
Faith as if a shield! Hope, for sure
as my breastplate.
In my hands, the two edged (s)word.

And most cunning of all
which when dispensed,
poured out in full measure,
Wicked has no defense.

A touch, kind gesture
A wink or embrace,
To brighten the downtrodden.
ĎTis tenderness,
and love, toward others.
