Teach me for I want to know. I want to learn. I want to understand. My heart longs for more of you, knowing there is so much I haven't even began to comprehend.
I want to learn to listen to you every day. I want to learn your Word, not just in my head but in my heart and in my being. I want to see you clearer, not just in this fussy blurry image of what I know of you now. I hunger for deeper revelation.
For you are Truth. Teach me to walk in that Truth. For You are life, teach me to live in that life and give of that life to others. For you are light, eliminating darkness, illuminating the path that we are to walk in. You quench my thirst, like only you can do. Oh God, teach me.
Teach me to be yielded and obedient. Teach me to follow where you lead. Hold my hand, Oh precious King and guide my way. Teach me, Oh precious Lord, to surrender and obey. Teach me to love with your love. Let your compassion be perfected with in me. For you are my Lord, My God and my teacher, my comforter and friend. Lord, teach me.
I'm not always the best student. Sometimes, I'm daydreaming. Sometimes, I'm busy with the cares of this world. Sometimes, I'm doing other things when you are teaching. I come before you now and repent. Teach me to be a good student, a good learner. Oh God teach me.
You train me up in the way that I should go. You draw me near when I am drifting. You've caused me to taste and see that You are good. You've sheltered me and fathered my spirit. Teach my, oh Daddy God. Teach me, my Lord. Teach me for I long to know.
