I'd rather belong to the crucified one,
And know that all in him was done.
I'd rather belong to the nail peiced one,
To know that heaven is my home.
Oh death where is thy sting,
Oh grave where is thy victory;
Since christ the Saviour came.
Away with him they cried,
For the people someone has to die.
For judgement he did come,
To call all and save some.
That the scriptures should be fulfilled,
He did therefore finish the fathers will.
So they scured him and planted,
A crown of thornes upon his head.
And for my sins he did bleed,
Just to think of what he went through.
All for the likes of me and you,
Brings my heart closer to heavens door.
Knowing that Christ Jesus,
Lives forever more.
