The moon is singing
as he rises in all
his fullness.
His face as clear
as my very own
and I know
that his song
stretches back through
eternity past
as he makes his path
across the sky
at the end of the day
only to illumine his way
as if the night
was held at bay
for just a moment longer.
He sails higher and stronger
and his light shines
down on me
and I, too, sing
a song that will
last my whole life long
of the One who set the moon
in its steady place
is the very same who
drew the contours
upon my face
and imparted His perfect grace
upon my heart.
So I sing and I dance
as the precious moon
reminds me anew
that God is ever present
especially when life seems
darkened by trouble;
He always provides
the light I need
as I am lowered to my knees
to give Him praise
throughout the night
and into the day.
