A DIARY FOR GOD

All too often we keep diaries of ourselves - what we have done, where we have been, whom we have met. I love writing. I used to pen my thoughts on paper everyday. These days there are blogs to help me store my diary in electronic form. With a blog, I can add colours, cartoons, animation, wallpapers, photographs, and funky designs to perk up each day's record. But when I look at my diary or blog, there seems to be a missing ingredient. What is it? It is GOD! That big word stares back at me.
I have left my faith writing in other books like my devotionals. Does that mean I am only keeping an account of God during my quiet time? What about the entire day's walk with Jesus? Oh dear, I am guilty..guilty..guilty! We are to proclaim what we have seen or heard, so that others who watch or read our journals will also enjoy the fellowship with God the Father (1 John 1:3-4). Furthermore, we are to write that down to make our joy complete. But some of us have literally left out God in our diaries. One good advice is to lay an open Bible beside you when you next make an entry into your diary.
Our diaries are not only for our eyes. Our diaries should also be for God. It is not that God needs to read what we experience each day in order to find out about us. It is for our personal reflection. We will return to that page one day. We will read what we have written and know how God has been involved in that day's mission. Others will also have the chance to read those pages. Will they see God in our lives everyday?
