John 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Can you Picture this:

Hebrews Beware how you entertain strangers; lest you entertain a stranger unawares.

Rev. 3:20. Behold I stand at the door and knock; if any man hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and sup with him and he with me.

You are about on your daily routine and an Old man dressed in a white robe with a golden girdle around his waist and hair like wool and feet like fire shows up.

He asks: “How are you doing”?

You respond: “I am doing fine and how are you”?

The Old man says: “I am extremely well; I’ve never been sick a day in my life!”

You say: “Come on Now; how did you do that?”

He says: “I live by ever word that proceedeth out of the Mouth of God”!

You are a little taken back by this hold ordeal, but you ask the Man: “Just who are you”?

The Old man says: “I am the word made flesh, and I decided that I would come and visit with you if that will be alright?”

You say; “I am not sure I know you and I am a little uncomfortable with you dwelling with me”.

You then ask Him: “Tell me who you are again.”

The Old man says: “Who do you say (or think) that I am?”

You look at the Old man puzzled and say: “I do not think that we have ever met!”

The Old man then ask you: “Do you like to read?”

You answer and tell him that yes you spend a good bit of time reading the sports pages, the classified ads and occasionally you read the society page. You go on to say that you read the Wall street Journal and you try to read an occasional best seller to keep you mind and wits sharp.

The Old Man ask you: “Have you ever read MY BOOK?”

You look at the Old Man and say: “Don’t tell me that you have Authored a Book”, “I never would have guessed it”

The Old Man replies: “ I am the Author and Finisher of The Faith”. MY Book has been on the worlds best seller list; why haven’t you read it?”

You say to the Old Man: “I am a little confused: Could you tell me again who you are?”

The Old Man looks at you with a piercing glance and says: “I am not the Author of Confusion, but of peace”!

You Look at the Old Man and sheepishly say: “Are you a little strange or something?”

They Old Man looks at you and says: “No I am you friend that has been sticking closer than a brother!”

You figure that this is some sort of joke and you say: “Are you serious?”

The Old Man Says: “I am the Truth”!

You say: “For the Life of me; I am not getting your Drift”

The Old Man simply says: “That is right: I am the LIFE”!

You say: “OK; all joking aside, tell me who you really are.”

The Old Man takes you by the shoulders and you feel some sort of fire in your shoulders where he is touching you and he says: “I am the light of the world”?

The Old man declares: “I own the cattle of a thousand hills”.

You just cannot leave it alone and you will not be out witted by this Old Man so you say: “If you are the Light of the world: what is the sun?”

The Old Man says: “In My Glory: I out shine the sun and in My house I have no need of the Sun. In Me is light and there is no darkness at all”.

That last statement shakes you a little bit, it sounds like something you might have heard before; so you cautiously pinch yourself to make sure that you are still awake and then you ask him: “Tell me for sure who you are and where you came from”.

The Old Man tells him: “It is like I told you: I am the word that came to dwell with you”.
And I am the True Light that Lighted you when you came into this world”.

You say: “Man you are blowing MY MIND”.

The Old Man says: “No I am not blowing your mind; I did not come to condemn you but that you might have life and have it more abundantly”.

You say to the Old Man: “Are you psychotic, Did you come to trip me out? I judge that you are crusing some where out in cyber space, and Don’t tell me that you came down from heaven”.

The Old Man says: “I cannot lie to you; I did come down from Heaven.”

You say: “Well; what did you come for?”

The Old Man says: “I did not come to judge you but there is one that judgeth you and it is this word that I have spoken unto you”.

You scowl at the Old Man and Say: “You must be some kind of religious nut”!

The Old Man with His Head hanging Low looks up in pity and humility and says: “I am not Jeremiahs and I am not Elijah and you think I am some sort of religious nut?”

You declare to the Old Man that You need a drink!

The Old Man says: “You know that I could give you a drink so that you would never thirst again”.

You are getting a little agitated at this Old Man and you say: “I am Pretty sure that I do not Know You!”

The Old Man bows His horary head and says: “If you are sure that you do not know me then I will depart from you”!

You look around and the OLD Man is gone! Like Vanished! Disappeared! Outa here!
You feel an emptiness like you have never felt in all you life, A darkness comes stealing over you. Your breath gets short. You cannot breath. You gasp for Air! You feel a great pain in you chest as your heart struggles for oxygen and the heart muscle quivers and stops. You regain consciousness but something is so different. It is dark but in the darkness is a figure of that OLD MAN. His countenance is like the sun in its strength. You run to him and say I Know YOU and He says: you are a liar and the Truth is not in you for If you had known me you would have loved me and kept my commandments and would not have denied me while you lived upon earth. Depart from me you worker of iniquity for I never knew you! You hear him command his angels to cast you out in to outer darkness; into the pit of hell prepared for the devil and his angels. In anguish and peril; fear and dread grip your every substance. You have no strength to stand and you fall into the bottomless abyss; squirming like a worm. You feel a consuming fire that cannot be seen and cannot be quenched. You seek death but cannot find it. Your weary yourself with weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth; but there is no release from your torment. Over and over you ask yourself who was that Old Man?

Why did I not recognize that Old Man before?

How is it possible to be so ignorant of the only person that knows everything there is to know about us?

How can I have lived my life and moved and had my being in God; My maker and My creator and How could I have been so oblivious to him?

He was there at every turn!

He Knew me in my mothers womb!

He numbered the hairs of my head and not one hair ever fell from my head that he did not know about it!

He knew every one of my thoughts altogether!

All the secret thoughts and intents of my heart are open to him: he knows them!

My willful ignorance of him is more than I can bear: how could I have come to this place without knowing him?

The End
