Prologue
There she stood in the doorway, as she did every day, waiting for Daddy to notice her. The very cry of her heart was “here I am Daddy, do you see me, tell me I’m pretty, tell me that you love me just because I’m me.” Every day she waited to hear these words and everyday she got the same response. Nothing.
As time went by, she began to believe that she was not noticed, she certainly wasn’t pretty and she was not loved unless she did something to win that love. Mindsets were formed in the mind of this little girl and they stayed with her most of her life. She made internal vows to herself that she strived to keep throughout her lifetime and she set up barriers that protected her from rejection, only to discover that her very actions and existence were build upon a foundation of rejection.
As time went by, her father called her by a boy’s name. She was known as “Bill”. She began to wish she really were a boy, because maybe then Daddy really would love her. Every opinion that she ever had was laughed at and she began to feel like she never had anything important to say. She began a quest with steadfast determination to be certain that everything she said would be brilliant and factual and unmovable. What a heavy burden for a little girl to bear. A little girl that was not pretty, or smart or worth loving, all alone (so she thought) and angry at the world.
I was that little girl. This is my story. Follow me through the process of redemption, restoration and inner healing that has forever changed my life, changed who I am and how I view the world today. It’s a good time to be alive. Come on, won’t you join me. If you have ever been rejected or felt unworthy of love, Christ has the answers within the pages of His holy written word. I want to take you there. I want to say from the onset that this is not a “father bashing”. I know today that my father loved me very much and he did the best he knew how. I have learned over time that hurting people hurt people; not intentionally, rather, from a place of their own brokenness, they react to life rather than respond. Write today’s date down on this page as a memorial to the day your delivery began.
Let’s pray.
Heavenly Father, I thank you that your heart it to see your sons and daughters healed and whole. Father, by the power of precious Holy Spirit, speak through the pages of this book to minister healing and acceptance to your people. I thank you God that you alone can set your people free. We receive that freedom that Christ alone can give. In Jesus name. Amen
Let’s get started.
