Oh, precious wondrous Lord,
Many have You called to serve,
Earnestly I implore You,
Use me, do not hold me in reserve.
Test me Father as you would,
God, give me work ~ use me well.
Challenge me in word and deed,
So when dear Lord I come to dwell.
With You in heaven’s vast realm,
I will stand before your lovely throne.
Where all the actions of my life,
Will not to You have been unknown.
Then I will sing with angel’s chorus,
Exalting Your high and Holy grandeur.
Knowing I was Your obedient child
Who willingly served at your pleasure.

God has used so many people in great and wondrous ways; the prophets, the clergy and evangelists of this world. However, not to be over looked God has also, used many the common man. Truth be told He uses us all to fulfill His magnificent plan for mankind. For me the concern is that I might miss the opportunity He has laid out before me because of my own selfish ambition, my own pompous opinion of myself, my own exaggerated sense of importance. Daily I pray to be used of God, but lately I have added, “Lord let me not miss the simple opportunities You offer me serve at your pleasure. Let me not be too good to do the minimal things need to advance Your kingdom.” It is just as noble to serve in the kitchen as it is to teach the lesson. It is just as important to be the librarian of the music as it is to sing the solo. It is also, just as important to wash the floor of the church as it is to be the architect of the building. Keep a close watch out for the opportunities God offers daily, not to climb the ladder to heaven, but to be the obedient servant needed to do God’s will.
