Lately I've always been knocking things down,
falling and dropping, ending up wearing a frown;
then God gently came and reminded me...
"this is not the way I want you to be...
Frustration and anger don't help you grow,
focus instead on the true things you know;
think on things that are excellent and true...
think of all the gifts and joy I've sent to you..."
What have I that is excellent and true?
first thing in my mind was the thought of you!
All negative things melt in the face of such bliss...
how could things get any better than this?
I think of the wonder of spending each day
full of the joys of just being with you;
My heart overflows with wonder anew...
and dances with the joy of saying how much I LOVE YOU!!
I am so blessed to be in this exact place,
wrapped up in the love that I see in your face;
Makes me want to dance, to shout, to sing...
and tell the world of the joys that you bring!
Jesus rescued me from ugly pain and despair,
and gave me light, put me in your tender care;
All my hours will be shining anew,
for my world is joy, because I LOVE YOU!!
