Peanut Butter? Ewww! Sticky!
"Peanut butter? No way! Peanut butter is sticky!" It is a long standing joke in our home that my husband, Mark, will not eat peanut butter defending his position with this feeble excuse. I grew up on peanut butter. Crackers and peanut butter along with a nice hot cup of tea was a staple in our house right alongside potatoes and rice!
In order to prove his argument, Mark has resorted to the most outrageous of tactics. One day he fed a large tablespoon full of peanut butter to Bubbles, our little beagle. He laughed histerically as the poor pup licked and licked and licked, trying to get the glue-like substance off the roof of her mouth. How I wished I could offer her a cup of hot tea to melt away the goo!
Have you ever been in a sticky situation? Maybe you have found yourself in a place where the more you struggled and squirmed, the more firmly entrenched in your stickiness you became. Struggle no more. Jesus stands here offering you the answer, the cup of hot tea, if you will. "Are you tired? Worn out? ... Walk with me and work with me - watch how I do it. ... I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." Matt. 11:28-30 (The Message)
