Eyes scan the orange neon signs
Anticipation high.
The time for boarding’s drawing near
‘The call to go’ is nigh!
Minutes tick by and then, at last!
The end of a long wait!
Holiday destination’s near
First, through the Boarding Gate.
We mingle with so many more,
All ages, shapes and sizes,
And press together through the gate
For holiday surprises.
Unknown vistas beckon loud,
Joys yet unseen await,
Its with a very happy heart
We enter ‘Boarding’s Gate’.
But also there’s a longing
That my God in me creates,
Heart songs of deep thanksgiving
As I enter through His Gates.
His love endures forever,
Praise God, for He is good,
I join with generations
And stand where they once stood.
God’s faithfulness unaltered
Continues on and on.
All worship Him with gladness
And sing with joyful song.
I’d gather many with me,
From their varying estates,
To come into His courts with praise
And enter through His Gates.
More unknown vistas beckon loud
For days that lie ahead.
Times of joy and wonder great
And times that I might dread.
His mercy and Salvation
My journey permeates
Until, at last. I come in joy
To enter Heaven’s Gates.
