What is intimacy with God? What does it mean when we say we want to be intimate with Him? Can it be a relationship that mean unbroken ties and a close and passionate relationship between us and our Lord God? It is the one thing that we want to strive for in life, but how can we attain this goal? First, it is not impossible, and secondly, it is attainable.
If we look at Moses life, we will know that it is not Moses but God who initiates intimacy with Him. Moses knew from young that he is the chosen of God as he grew up at Pharaoh’s court. That is the reason why he left the splendor and riches of life to identify himself with God’s people. He tried to liberate his own people by being a judge to his people. He ended up in the wilderness looking after sheep after he fled from his country men for killing a man.
We see the account in the burning bush experienced that Moses had in Exodus Three that it is God who initiated and came to Moses and spoke to him about delivering the children of Israel out of bondage from Egypt. We see in Exodus 3:14 that God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ ” God revealed the “I AM” to Moses and showed him what He wanted Moses to do.
When God appear to us, there is always a task or destiny that He would have us to fulfill. What is your destiny in God? Does your encounter with God bring you closer to your destiny? Moses struggled as to who he is in God. He said that he is not eloquent to speak to God’s people and he felt inadequate to serve. We may have similar experience, but know that when God choose and call us, He will open the way for us to serve Him. We may feel inadequate and incapable, but it is God who is the one that is going to do the work through us and not us doing the work. He calls us to come alongside Him and we are not alone to accomplice the task alone. He calls us to partner with Him in ministry. The Holy Spirit is doing the work and we are just synchronizing with Him.
What is your destiny and call of God in your life? Are you building intimacy with God to attain to the level that God wants you to be in with Him. Are you cleansed by His blood daily and are you spending time in intimacy with Him? Our daily time with God is so important because that is the time that we get intimacy with God. Spending time daily in His presence and reading His Word on a consistent basis are the keys to intimacy with God. God has called us to a place where He can meet us just as we are and giving us the mantle to serve Him as we are faithful to serve Him daily.
How then can we attain intimacy with God? By our heart’s attitude, yes, by our attitude it will determine whether we are serious in getting to know God and His manifested presence. We must hunger after His presence and be willing to pray fervently both for others and ourselves. We must be willing to stand in the gap, both for our family and our nation. We must touch God with our constant prayer and intercession to God, and that’s where God will hear us. When we touch God with our prayers, we know that we have hit the right note with Him and we are ready to face our destiny. Whatever ministry God has for us, make it our goal to be close to Him and be yielded to Him in every moment of our lives. It is through abiding in Him and doing His will that we are going to touch Him.
As you touch God, know that God will bring to pass what He has been saying to you, and your destiny is at hand, just round the corner. Be in a place of constantly seeking Him and God will meet us and show Himself to us. Be determined to fulfill your destiny as you touched God. Be in a place for Him and you will soon be completely wrapped up in Him that all you seek to accomplish for Him will be fulfilled.
Be in your place of destiny and meet God. There is no higher place to be in then to be in His presence.
