Encouragement
Is obtaining eternal life just as easy as John 3:16 states? If we accept Christ, He will indeed save us from our sins.
Christians have chosen to believe in God through his Son, Jesus Christ. Some Christians often pray in the name of Jesus. Other Christians will proclaim things in the name of the “blood of Jesus.” God sent Jesus into the world so that men and women would be saved through Jesus Christ.
A man or woman who doesn’t believe in Jesus Christ is destined for hell. (John 3:18). This is true because the person hasn’t adopted the basic requirement which is to believe in Christ. It is very hard for some people to accept this passage of scripture. This is especially true, when they have a close friend or relative who has not accepted Christ.
There is a remedy for this. The remedy is for the non-believer to accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior, to become a believer in Jesus Christ. Yet, we do not have control over someone else and their beliefs. This is true, but as Christians we can communicate with the one Being who can influence anyone and anything. That Being is God.
If we look at I Corinthians 3:6 & 7, these verses tell us that we may expose someone to the truth of Christ, and someone else may further testify to this person. In the end, only God gives the increase to this person’s faith. In other words, it truly is the Grace of God that saves people.
Knowing this, how can we possibly have an impact on someone who doesn’t believe? We can 1) live the life, 2) pray for the person, 3) discuss and expound as appropriate, and accepted, and 4) wait to see what increase will occur. Yet always remembering where the increase comes from.
We should remember that faith comes by hearing (Hebrews 11:1). In conjunction with this, the word of God is what should be heard (Romans 10:17). People are persuaded to do things by examples and words. God works through natural means and supernatural means. He often uses His sons and daughters to work through the natural means, and He takes care of the supernatural means.
