I had been thinking this week about Mother Teresa's words, when she spoke of just starting and helping one person.
That is how you start. That helps me so much to gather perspective. Just start. Seems big, just start. It is starting to begin.
I mentioned about Mother Teresa because in the dream I was outdoors walking up a river stream with Mother Teresa and probably others. Kind of like pioneers trudging up a river stream.
We saw a leg or some body, or part of their body showing in the water. They looked like they would surely be dead, apparently something had happened to cause alot of water force to drive a tree down stream, knocking them down and pinning them.
Unable to get themselves free, and for some time. I'm sure my reaction was to think they were gone. To not do anything very fast.
But in the dream Mother Teresa went right over to them and began to pull them out, pull things off of them, and with vigor for them, pull them out. Then to get them to a place out of the water. They were alive, still. She said something about getting them out, to a place to rest, or I did, to them, but they said no they weren't going to make it, doomed, it wasn't likely that they'd make it, they were at their last, they knew they were going to die.
And the conversation after that in my dream, was Mother Teresa telling them that they were talking like a person without hope.
That even if they were to die, there was great Hope, they just needed to know Jesus. They were told about Jesus.
There was Hope. If they knew Jesus it didn't matter whether it really was the last breath or not, it was not the end.
It wasn't a worse end, to which they were going. By hearing about Jesus and accepting Him, it was truly a better hope. A better end, not dying, but the knowing that they now had life to look forward to in receiving Jesus.
Knowing HIm was so much Hope. A reason for great Joy. It wasn't dying, but now, it was to live.
That makes my joy full.
That encourages me so much today.
That makes me want to find the lost and give them the Hope that is in Christ, our Lord with vigor.
To not look at the circumstances that look like they are gone, but like the Mother Teresa in my dream, go right over and begin to unpin them, take the log off, pull them out.
It makes me want to share with people about Jesus.
Those with no hope, those who are dying without hope. Without HIm.
Because with Him, we have a greater Hope than whether we live or die. Dying is a reason to be full of hope, when you've accepted Jesus. Our hope in Jesus is great.
There is such Joy in knowing our Him as our Savior and Lord.
It certainly puts any depressions under. If our hope is in Jesus, then our Hope is so great, we don't have to look at things or depressions as people without hope. We have a Hope in Jesus that goes beyond everything else.
That man in the dream, seemed like he would die of his injuries. But there was one difference. Dying without hope, or now, dying in great joy and great Hope, because he had been told about His Savior and was able to accept Him.
The streets are full of people who have been caught by the force of something and lay dying and know no hope. We can go and pull them out. The woman in my dream put effort into it, with vigor for their care, it didn't have to be thought on or delayed. Pulling them out, and caring for them.. And telling them about our Lord Jesus who loves them.
Now, not to die, but to live. Though we die, yet we live. That is Jesus. And that whether we live or die in this life is not of the greatest regard, but that if we are broken to death, there is a greater hope in Jesus. Knowing Him.
We ask forgiveness and all our sin is washed away.
