John Bevere is an international bestselling author with award-winning teaching materials, as well as a speaker at conferences and churches. Yet it all started during his senior year of college. He stayed in school while others went home for Thanksgiving. He fasted and prayed, seeking God’s predetermined will for his life. A couple months later, he knew what he was supposed to do. He was to interview for the job of an engineer, although this was divergent from the ministry-oriented calling he felt inside.
He went to numerous companies on Campus and knew almost immediately he was to work in the Rockwell Corporation in Dallas, Texas. There were no Bible schools in Dallas that he was aware of. He had thirteen job offers in other cities, some had Bible schools and each offered more money than Rockwell. Undeterred by those distractions, he obeyed. When he arrived in Dallas, he walked into a church. The Lord told him he was to plant himself there. Faithful service in this church led him to where he is today.
John’s account emphasizes the truth that God has a place for you where you start achieving your God-given dreams. This is where you flourish in your destiny. This is where you succeed at your life assignment. This is your habitat.
