Have you ever been in a strange place where you feel as if you are on a ride in an amusement park? You are anxious to get on the ride, because it looks thrilling, but when you get on, what you thought to be thrilling in reality is actually uncomfortable and no matter how loud you scream, it appears that the ride operator is either ignoring you or he cannot hear you.
You scream, you yell, you may even use profanity, but you still have to continue the ride. You may feel a little discomfort, even feeling like you have to barf from the queasy feeling of anxiety, let it out and hang on for the ride!
The best that you can do is hold onto the safety bars as tight as possible, and make sure that the seat belt is secure. Remove all loose articles; you may as well because they will be lost anyway, close your eyes and say a prayer as you slowly get elevated to the peak of that ride and as you ascend, lift your arms and hands in the air and surrender to that surprise that awaits you on the other side.
You may feel like you are alone in the wilderness at times even though you have others right there with you kicking and screaming.
You will experience ups and deep drops, twists and turns, loops and corkscrews, you may even encounter a déjàvu and have to back up and start all over again.
But whatever journey God has you on, know that once the cars have reached their final destination, and the breaks began to screech, when the ride is halted, it will be your turn to get off and proceed to the next purpose that God has in store for you.
