In this last days we can expect heresy, false teachers and prophets, signs and wonders to be performed by the enemy of God. Matt 24:11, 7:21-23. They have to arise because the Word of God said so. How then can we protect and guard ourselves against the liar? It is through the Spirit of God that we discern the counterfeit. We recognise the enemy by knowing what is real from the false. We can only resist and overcome him if we know the truth. It is important that we have a relationship with Jesus as we differentiate between light and darkness.
Matt 7:15-20 talk about false believers, that we will know them by their fruits. The deception of the enemy is real as it deceives hearts and brings chaos. There are those in the category who seem to be real in the Lord, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Matt 7:15. It is difficult to recognise them unless we have discernment of spirits. These are the people that bring down the church and break the body of Christ. Only the Holy Spirit can show us the deceptor. This is the reason why it is so important to walk closely with the Holy Spirit, so that He will be our guide and direct us to know what to do in times of trouble.
In the last days, the enemy will content with souls like he has always done right from the beginning. We must be alerted to his cunning deceitful ways. We can overcome him by girding ourselves with the armour of God. We must walk daily in righteousness, truth, faith, peace, salvation and the Word of the Lord. Only the children of God can make it in the last days. It is vital that we share Christ with others so that souls can be snatched out of hell.
Giving heed to the voice of God is important, as many times we get into trouble because we fail to give heed to the Holy Spirit. Sensitivity and obedience to God is vital in our Christian walk. If we want to be guided by the Holy Spirit, we must stay sensitive.
Knowing the Word of God will help us counteract the enemy. Truth will dispel darkness. We must study Godís Word on a consistent basis, so that we can wage a good warfare against the enemy. The armor of God is one of the weapons to fight against the enemy. We must always have the loins of truth so that we will have a right standing with God, in which it brings us to the righteousness of God. We must constantly gird ourselves with the beast-plate of righteousness, so that truth will overshadow what is false. With righteousness and truth, we need to put on the shield of faith, which is able to ward off the firing darts of the enemy. Many times we are bombarded with lies, persecutions, trials and difficulties, and that is the time to put on our shield of faith to believe God for every situation.
We need to bring the peace of the gospel to a dying world. Our love for Jesus must surpass every other love that we have. We must be willing to share the gospel as the Great Commission commanded. With the gospel in our hands, we shall have the helmet of salvation, followed by the Word of God, which is an offensive weapon against the enemy.
With our armor in place, we are ready to face up with the enemy and do great mighty exploits for God. Dan 11:32b. In this last days we can expect tribulations and persecutions as we stand our witnesses for Christ. In 1 Pet 2:21 we see that Christ suffered, in order that we might follow His footsteps too. We are not spare from suffering, but we are asked to co-labor with Christ, that through suffering we might glorify Jesus and exalt His name in difficult moments.
We must also protect our relationship with our Lord, as busyness can rob us of our intimacy with God. We can be busy serving the Lord, and yet neglect our relationship with Him. We must come constantly into Godís presence and commit and submit our lives and daily schedules to Him. We must not be caught with our own ambition that we fail to depend upon Jesus. It is through relationship with Jesus that we can fully find our joy in our ministry and work. God wants us to be dependent on Him and not trust ourselves to do our own ministry.
The enemy is all out to leer Christians from having a relationship with Jesus and he will do all he can to distract us. We must therefore save-guard ourselves from the wiles and deceitful schemes of the enemy. The only way to deal with this is by keeping in close touch with the Holy Spirit, and getting into the Word on a consistent basis.
Let us prepare ourselves in this last days. Either we are found to have a relationship with Him or we are being led astray by the world. Either way you choose make a difference at how we look at Jesusí return. Either we are ready or not ready for His coming, it is entirely up to us.
Are you prepared to meet your Lord when He returns? Will you be found doing what He has called you to do? Place your hope in God in the last days. There is nothing we can rely on except the Spirit of God. To be in His perfect will is to be prepared for His coming. Are you ready for His coming?
