Maybe cats are smarter than us humans...they seem attracted to the Bible.
Some humans have a Bible out in plain sight, but never bother to pick it up, or read the contents..except when something goes wrong in their life...then...words of comfort are needed, yes, where else, but from that Bible that laid there for a long time...unused.
So, what is it about, cats and the Bible?
For many years I left my Bible on the coffee table in the living room...in front of the sofa where I sat and read. I begin to notice that our cat, Squeaky, would sit next to the Bible, and place the front half of her body atop the Bible. She did this over and over...I even took a picture of this event.
She lived to be nineteen years old. After she died, I rescued a kitten who was about 3 1/2 weeks old. I named her "Baby Girl". I fed her diluted goat's milk just like I did my Chihuahua...light weight Petey. they have grown up to be best friends.
Since my husband died about 18 months ago, then last month, my only child, my son Paul...I go to bed with my Bible laying next to my pillow. Yes, I do read in it, highlight scripture, then lay it over and fall asleep. Petey sleeps close to me...as any good Chihuahua would do. On the other hand, my now grown cat, Baby Girl, chooses to sleep on my Bible. Yes she does.
But you are wondering...what's the point to this article?
You figure it out.
Do you need help?
To me God is saying "Cats cannot read, but they seem attracted to His written word anyway."
We humans can read, but how many of us take the time to be attracted to our own Bible?
Think about It.

P.S. God is giving me some hard difficult things to write and present...but if...I don't write what He sends my way...then I won't be able to write in the future...so "smiles" expect more. I love everyone in Christian love...Martha

Enjoyed this piece, your gentle smile through it all - we have an orange tabby who tries to chew the Bible - then I need to place it in the safety of a drawer....
How very true! I have cats too and they like to lie ans sleep near or on top of my Bible, I used to think it was the type of paper, but my other Bibles get the same treatment. Nice write!
