Shall the Christian Soldiers Rise?

Darkness strikes and hearts grow cold
Lost in time are dreams untold
Hearts get hard, convictions die
Why must we believe the lie?

Once so filled with life and love
Once as peaceful as a dove
With a soaring faith with in
Tell me when the light grew dim

Self has stolen many lives
Where judging reigns, compassion dies
Blinded by self righteousness
And greed and pride, Can we arise?

Very thought-provoking poem. "Tell me when the light grew dim", speaks volumes as to how the light within can grow dim without our even realizing it, if we take our eyes off Jesus.
