WORDS
'STICKS AND STONES MAY BREAK MY BONES, BUT WORDS CAN NEVER HARM ME'...
NOT TRUE!!!
Words can build up, encourage, strengthen or they can pull down, put down, and destroy a person inside. If you think this is not true, think back to when you were told (not everyone mind you) "you are no good"..."you'll never amount to anything"...you're stupid"..."what's the matter with you, can't you do anything right"...did it hurt? Did it make you feel less of a person? Perhaps you were teased at school when being one of the 'group' was so important and they seemed not to want you around and said so. Did this hurt you? Of course it did. It is hard to believe that even some parents say this to their children. On the other hand, words can encourage, lift up and help one to mature the way we are intended to. When a child is told "you did great"...."that's a great idea you have"..."I appreciate you so much"... "Thank you for helping me"....To the girl "you look beautiful"....to the young boy "You are a fine, smart young man"... Can you see the difference?
I heard someone say one time that words are containers and they carry all kinds of 'stuff'. We think in pictures, not words. If I describe to you the Colorado Mountains you don't see the letters spelling mountains do you? No, you see snow-covered mountains, possibly 'Pikes Peak". You see trees and possibly mountain trails. If you have actually been there, you will see more.
The written word as well as the spoken word has a power that we have yet to see the full potential. God spoke "Light Be"...and light was. God created this entire universe with the spoken word. Does that give us a clue as to how important our words are since we are created in HIS image and HE has given us the authority to use the same method HE did in accomplishing HIS work? Words from our mouths are seed and they will produce a crop, good or bad. I, personally, have had to pray for a crop failure from time to time, so I am learning still to watch what I say.
God told one minister "I have told my people they can have what they say and they are saying what they have".....
Think about it.

Too many, or too few.
Sometimes the message comes out wrong,
And hurt and grief ensue.
