WHAT ARE YOU THINKING
Proverbs 23:7."For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he...
Psalms 94: 11...."The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
Matthew 6:25 ...."Therefore I say unto you, TAKE no thought for your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor yet for your body, what you shall put on....
II Corinthians 10:5.....'Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity EVERY THOUGHT to the obedience of Christ....'
Our thinking is constantly in operation. We are thinking ALL the time whether we realize it or not. We think (and worry) about the economy, the government. We think about what others think about us. I suppose you could compare it to a computer...we turn the computer on and it is filled with information but we choose which information we want to read or look at.
We truly are what we think about. So how do we control our thoughts? Can we turn them off like a computer? In one sense, yes, we can. When a thought comes that is not good or just plain evil, we can SAY NO!!! I will not think about that, I choose to believe God's word and we confess a scripture truth that will eradicate that thought, much like deleting something on the computer. We replace one thought with a better thought.
God knows ALL our thoughts, good, bad and evil. If we are born again with the Holy Spirit living inside us, HE will give us a nudge...."change your thoughts"....None of us have a desire to displease or disobey God in our thought life, but it is a battle we deal with everyday until one day we find the skirmishes less intent as we have re-programmed out mental and spiritual computer with the Word of God. When we have a revelation of God's Word planted in our spirit, then when a worry thought comes, we immediately replace that thought with God's Word. We have to actually TAKE a thought for it to affect our lives.
I like what one minister said "We can't keep the birds from flying over our heads but we can prevent them from building a nest in our hair"....Thoughts come...we have to change our thoughts with a better thought.
