2019 Writing Goals

Post by Laurie » Wed Jan 02, 2019 3:48 pm

What are your writing goals for 2019? It would be fun to hear what you plan to do this year.

I'm working on two e-books about coping with chronic illness. One will have suggestions for coping and the other will be more inspirational.

As per my writing goals ( I also have other, lesser goals), I am determined, by God's good favor, to finish my book about patients as active partners in health care and treatment outcomes. Currently, on the eighth chapter. One more to go. And then the real fun begins...re-write, re-write, re-write...Send to editor...re-write...re-write...and re-write once more. Trusting that no health challenges will crop up while I'm hard at work. :typing2

Kudos to you prolific writers who can tackle two manuscripts at the same time. :clap :D

I write even when I think I can't, because I must. :-)

I love to write. Nothing escapes the crush I have on the written word. I'm hooked on words!!

Wow, Brenda, you have an ambitious year planned. This is so cool to see. :D

Lillian, that sounds like an interesting book. And you're almost there with a solid rough draft. :D I know what you mean about the re-writes and edits. I've been through my current book about a zillion times, and I keep finding things to tweak. I'm enjoying the process, though.

To just start writing again. After I did some paid work, I had little time to write fun stuff. Then felt really burned out when the work dried up. I've started to get the itch again. We'll see what happens, but I've been thinking about jumping into the Challenge again for awhile now.

Ooh, Shari, I hope you will jump back into the challenge. I enjoyed getting back into it last year. But I'll admit I'm having a hard time coming up with something this week!

I would really like to work more on my Wrigley stories, but I maybe even go so far as doing some queries, but I have wanted to do that for so long, but so maybe my goal should be to get the courage and confidence to do so.

I'm still mulling over an idea for Shop (nothing yet).

But, I did pull up a few of my old challenge entries, and am working on a longer project based on one of them, possibly pull in ideas from a couple others, with some creative rewriting/editing.

For the past 2 or 3 years I have signed up for the November writing challenge and then stalled. Once because work really got in the way, and last year because I was not in love with my idea. I think my biggest goal this year is to be active in the Challenges and to work on an idea for the November challenge.

The November challenge sounds like a great goal, Cori. :D

Shari, I'm glad you found some material to work on. It sounds like a good way to get back in the groove. :D

Due to the brain fog associated with my chronic illness, I couldn't concentrate well enough to write for a long time. I'm SO grateful that I was able to start writing again last year! I don't know how long it will last, so I want to make the most of this opportunity while it lasts. It feels good to write again, and I'm happy to see others getting back to it as well. :D

My goal is to become a faithful writer this year. Whether to the Challenge or my journal, I would love to see definitive progression, definition of writing direction, and by the end of 2019, a formation of a MS—be it an outline or synopsis—to carry into 2020 and work towards publication.
Penning words for the heart and soul,
Karls

My goal for this year is to finish a Memoir/Bible Study book. (Putting My Hand in God's)

I'm using a series of words that I have noticed God teaching me over the years -
ABIDE, REST, WAIT, SUBMIT, etc. I include an example of how God taught each
lesson to me, with accompanying verses and questions.

It's taking me longer than I thought, because I keep getting lost in my word studies.
(which is not a bad thing, but not getting my book done)
