Discussion for Platinum members about the current Page Turner Writing Contest
Moderator: Deb Porter
With the new Non-Fiction Page Turner Contest up and running, it's time to get our entry tally underway. Not expecting too many entries for a while, but we're all set and ready to go.

As always, it's fun to keep track of how many entries there are in the Page Turner contest each year (so you can keep an eye on the competition).
Here we go with the first official Page Turner Entry count:
0 entries (as at January 5)
I'll keep the updates coming.
Yay!!! I'm already so excited! The countdown begins.
Why didn't I find FaithWriters 10 years ago? I guess I didn't own a computer then, so it wouldn't have done me much good.

Love your enthusiasm, Rachel!!!!
And we have our first entry....
1 entry (as at March 6)
Plenty of time to get your non-Fiction entry in. This contest is well worth entering.
Woot!!! Thank you, Lynn. We have another entry (at last!)
2 entries (as at June 15)
Okay gang, the drought has broken, let those entries pour in!
And Leola makes . . .
3 entries (as at July 6)
Entries close October 31, and at the rate this year is going, we will be in October before we know it. Remember, the winner gets $800 cash prize (thanks to FW), editing and publication through Breath of Fresh Air Press (as long as there are enough entries to make it a valid contest).
So don't leave it to the last minute. Get those entries in. If you are hoping to have your non-fiction manuscript published traditionally, with money in your pocket, this is the contest to enter.
And Grace makes . . .
4 entries (as at August 6)
Remember, entries close October 31, which is just a little over two months away. So get a wriggle on.
Page Turner winner gets $800 cash prize, and editing and publication through Breath of Fresh Air Press. (Publication will depend on there being at least 15 entries.)
Time is now racing.
And Rochelle makes . . .
5 entries (as at August 20)
Remember, entries close October 31!
We are still a long way from that minimum 15 entries required to make this a valid contest, so if you are thinking about entering, time to get that entry in.
A quick update about last year's winner, the manuscript is in the process of being structurally edited (with reworking by the author, Theresa). Then it will be back to me for another edit before we take the next step toward our publishing goal of June 1, 2015.
And Dixie makes . . .
6 entries (as at August 30)
And in case you forgot, entries close October 31! That's just two months away ... and the time will FLY!
First edit of last year's Page Turner winner is nearly done. Things are racing along on Theresa's road to publication. You could join her in 2015.
And Susan makes . . .
7 entries (as at September 2)
We are now coming down the last bend heading for the home stretch. Don't miss out. Entries close October 31.
And don't forget, this is an outstanding opportunity to get feedback on your manuscript (if you request it in your synopsis/overview). The response to these reports is always overwhelmingly positive. So even if you don't think your manuscript may win at this stage of its development, the potential help received through a feedback report may be very valuable.
And Toni B makes . . .
8 entries (as at September 21)
Nearing the one month to go mark. Time is racing by.
A minimum of 15 entries needed to ensure the winner will be published.
And Kenneth P makes . . .
9 entries (as at September 27)
It is nearly down to the one month countdown, and we are inching closer to that minimum 15 entry mark. Non-fiction writers, this is your time to shine! If you have a non-fiction manuscript in the works, don't let this opportunity pass you by.
Finally! We've cracked the double digits barrier. Lori D makes . . .
10 entries (as at September 29)
Onward and upward! The clock is ticking.
Creeping closer to the minimum number. Rachel M brings the tally to . . .
11 entries (as at October 1)
We are now in the last big push. This is the last month to get your entry in. Don't leave it to the last minute.
Verna moves the tally a little higher . . .
12 entries (as at October 2)
An entry a day between now and October 31 would be wonderful.
