Kids' Contest winners

Postby Shann » Tue May 13, 2014 8:17 pm

The winners are in for the FW for Kids Homograph writing contest. We had some awesome entries. They are all winners in my book. I sincerely enjoyed each and every entry and think the kids all are amazing writers with huge potential. We had several authors who were kids of FW members. It's cool to see how the writing bug has spread throughout the families.

Everyone who entered should have received an email by now. If you'd like feedback send me an email and I'll try to get it to you as soon as I can.

In first place is "The King's Journey" by Owen Malcolm

Second place belongs to "Lazarus' Bow" by Zielle

And the third place winner is "Helping Alexa" by Emma Forbes

Congratulations to everyone. Once the kids post their stories I'll post a link to it so you can read our talented youngsters work. The entries ranged from ages 9 to 14.

Thank you for all the work you put into making this contest happen, Shann! My kids really enjoyed entering, and I have one who is giddy over winning first place!

P.S. It was actually Owen who won. :D

Thanks Rachel. Sorry about the wrong name. I caught myself doing it several times too. Hopefully I got it right in the other places. My brain wants to write Ethan no matter how much I think about it. I loved his robot story too so maybe that's why. Amy was also instrumental in getting it all together and Toni helped judge (another mod on kids' site_ and of course Bea and Mike made it all possible. :D

Eileen entered, but hasn't mentioned getting an email. I'll ask her after she gets up in a bit.
