I had the fortune to meet an elderly gentleman here in Orange who is a Pearl Harbor survivor. His name is Milton Verlag, he's 95 years old, and was serving as an army medic when the attack on Pearl Harbor occurred. He recently gave me a copy of his experience, but I can't seem to find a site that it will be suitable for. The Pearl Harbor Survivor's site is essentially down because there aren't enough survivors--only 12 at last count who were on the U.S.S. Arizona--to keep the site up. He was a member of that organization until it was forced to disband. Mr. Verlag also gave me his cell and landline numbers, as well as his address--he doesn't do internet--and I've given him my name and address. His is an interesting story, but does anyone have any ideas on where to post it, to keep his story alive? If I put it here, I'm going to have to curb the language; since he wrote it all down in 1991, I don't think that would qualify as an as-told-to story. Any help would be appreciated.
