Page Turner Feedback - 2013

Postby Deb Porter » Fri Dec 27, 2013 2:52 am

Just a quick update for all those who requested feedback on their 2013 Page Turner entries. I'm in the process of preparing the reports, but this always takes a month or two (sometimes longer, depending on how many people requested it).

To date, six reports have been sent out, and there are 19 still to go. So if you haven't received your report, don't panic. If all goes according to plan, hopefully you will all have them by the end of January.

In His love,

Deb

Thanks Rachel. Had Christmas and Boxing Day off with family, but my husband had to go back to work yesterday, so I've been hard at it again since.

Really glad you found your report helpful. :D

Deb,
Is it possible to also get an update on how Faithwriter Books are coming along?
I know you're doing a mammoth job with other projects, and I feel badly about asking. :sorry
But as we approach another year, I am quite conscious of how old I'm getting. :D

Many thanks,

Lillian

Hi Lillian.

Of course you can ask. I have set an ABSOLUTE deadline for the first book to be released by March 31. The others should come every two to three months after that (depending on how quickly they come together with editing and final approvals for major editing).

One big decision I've made is to do a general release for every author to date to cover their articles up to the present. There will also be no final edit approval unless significant changes are recommended. Otherwise getting anywhere up to 80 authors' final approvals per book is just going to weigh everything down. Same with bio notes. I will include a note in each book that the authors can be contacted via their FaithWriters page or through Breath of Fresh Air Press.

As for the Page Turner feedback, I have 7 to go and will be VERY glad to see the back of it. LOL. I love encouraging people and helping them, but this is always a really big (and mentally tiring) job.

I wish I were the type of person who could just send out the basic category ratings and a paragraph of comment, but I can't. I don't think that's helpful at all (and the comments I've received from people on the feedback they've received from other contests tends to confirm that). So, of course, they are getting up to four pages from me. The feedback from the recipients has been really positive, though, so that makes it all worthwhile.

Hi Lynn.

I don't have your entry marked as requesting feedback, but I will make an exception for you. :D

So close to finished now I can almost taste it. At the end of January 1 (Australian time), I have just five reports left to write. I had really hoped to have them all done by the end of December, just to clear the decks, but I'm very thankful there are just five to go.

Time for bed now. The picture below says it all.

Hopefully get the rest wrapped up tomorrow.

Thanks, Deb, for your quick response. Although I'm not in the first book, it will be exciting to see the names of other fellow Faithwriters in print. Can't wait to purchase a copy.

Much prayer for renewed "brain power" :D and physical stamina to complete all that must be done in 2014.

Have a Blessed and Healthy New Year!

Only three more reports to write. The finish line is in sight . . . just need to give one last big push to make it across to the other side.

Phew!

One more left to write ... and that's for you Lynn. But I'll leave that until tomorrow. For now, my bed is calling. It's time to say goodbye to Day 2 of 2014.

And it is done! Hooray!!!!!! Image

Phew! Image

Everyone who requested feedback on their 2013 Page Turner Contest entries should now have received it by email.

A big thank you to all those who responded to let me know how helpful the feedback was for them. I appreciated that so much. It kept me going when my brain was feeling like this Image

Now, off to prepare the information for the 2014 Non-Fiction Page Turner. Stay tuned. Should be up this week.
