Free Reprint

Postby Colswann1 » Sun Oct 20, 2013 4:43 am

I had an EC in the topic Colour. I asked permission to put this in the Free Reprint Article section and found out I was able to do this. If a book was ever done of the colour topic could not my article be just used in it without having to seek my further permission as it is in the free reprint section?
Maybe there are others who have put ECs in the free reprint section that could also be just used in a similar fashion.

You can do whatever you want with any Challenge Entry, EC or not. You can put it in the free reprints. However, when it comes time for it to be used in the book, Deb will still probably need you to sign the permission form for her, from a legal standpoint, for her publishing company. This helps keep her bookkeeping easier, as well.

I just thought it might ease Deb's workload if she could use articles without having to chase up everbody. Since Mike shared about Deb's prosopalgia (killer face and head aches) I thought maybe we could try and find ways of easing her work load.

Maybe her legal advisers could come up with an en bloc alternative of getting authors of ECs to sign a once and for always right to all their ECs, thus avoiding Deb having to chase (sometimes endlessly) individual cases up every time a book is printed. :)

Thanks for thinking of that Colin. Unfortunately, I do still need the signed release.

If you are an author in Mixed Blessings Book 1 Simple Pleasures, keep an eye on your email over the next three weeks. I'll be sending out the proof of your article for approval.
